Our activities are polluting the oceans with wastewater, oil, pesticides and plastic. The oceans are acidifying due to unchecked climate change. Illegal fishing, bycatch and the side effects of fish farming are further damaging the ecosystem. 87 percent of commercially exploited fish species are fully fished or already overfished. The coasts and oceans resemble a landfill site. Plastic is not only a deadly danger for animals. Waste is a global problem and threatens nature, animals, people and their livelihoods.
Our goal
The oceans are a huge ecosystem. If it gets out of balance, this has consequences for humans and animals. We are committed to the creation of marine protected areas, effective waste management and sustainable fishing. And we are committed to combating climate change.
“We are fighting against the flood of plastic and protecting the oceans to preserve an important ecosystem on our planet.”
